This course will get English as a Second Language students closer to sounding fluent when they speak. The lessons focus on everyday situations in the United States that a speaker would face. People learning English often are able to communicate what they want to say, but struggle with their choice of words. Sometimes the student uses a word that is too formal and sometimes they use an expression that nobody says anymore. This sounds awkward. In both situations the person listening is distracted and may not get the full message the speaker is trying to convey. These lessons will help a student like this choose appropriate vocabulary in a given situation with the goal of sounding more fluent.
