It is taught by a Dr. Catherine Cain, a Pediatric Behavioral Specialist with over 25 years experience. Students will learn: 1. How to identify ADHD. 2. The causes of ADHD. 3. What treatments are available for ADHD. 4. How to solve behavior problems associated with ADHD in the home or classroom. You need not have prior education or experience in order to take this course. It is written in easy to understand language.

Course Description

This course offers insight into understanding of Attention Deficit Disorder(ADHD), hyperactivity, and impulsivity in children.

Learn:

  • How a child with ADHD thinks;
  • How a child with ADHD learns;
  • Methods for treating ADHD other than medication; and,
  • Effective strategies for helping a child with ADHD in the classroom or home.

This course was written for therapists, educators, parents, and others working with children with ADHD. It is taught by a Dr. Catherine Cain, a Pediatric Behavioral Specialist with over 25 years experience.

Lesson 1: What is ADHD?

Lesson 1 covers information about what ADHD is, what causes ADHD, and who is affected by ADHD.

Lesson 2: Symptoms of ADHD

Lesson 2 covers symptoms of ADHD along with information the increase of ADHD being seen and related factors.

Lesson 3: What's It All About?

Lesson 3 covers the neurological functionings of the brain in children with ADHD and how this is related to ADHD symptoms.

Lesson 4: Treatment for ADHD

Lesson 4 covers common treatments for ADHD including medication, teaching of social skills, and therapy. It also includes information on how the environment influences ADHD symptoms.

Lesson 5: Factors Related to ADHD

This lesson covers factors that are related to ADHD that are in the environment.

Lesson 6: Strategies, Funding, Resources

Lesson 6 offers 30 of my best strategies for working with ADHD, along with information about funding and resources.
