Geometry Class for High School (first semester) is taught by Susan Johnsey who also teaches several Algebra online courses for UniversalClass. This online course is equivalent to the first semester of high school geometry. The class and its sequel, Geometry (second semester) will prepare you well for Algebra 2 and Precalculus. If you have already completed high school and need Precalculus or Calculus in college then this class will prepare you for the geometry and trigonometry topics included in those classes. The topics to be studied include basic geometric figures, deductive reasoning, parallel lines and planes, congruent triangles, quadrilaterals, inequalities of geometry, and polygons. A particular geometry textbook is required for the course.

Course Description

This geometry course is designed for those students, young or old, who need a thorough course in Geometry. This online course is equivalent to the first semester of high school geometry. The class and its sequel, Geometry (second semester) will prepare you well for Algebra 2 and Precalculus. 

The topics to be studied include :
   basic geometric figures,  
   deductive reasoning and proofs,  
   postulates and theorems for  parallel lines and planes,  
   corollaries and theorems for congruent triangles,  
   properties and theorems for quadrilaterals,  
   inequalities of triangles,  and polygons.
  

 
 A particular geometry textbook is required for the course.  It is used in many high schools in the US.
 
The student may work at his own pace. 

He may begin at any time. 
 
Each day that an assignment or test is submitted by the student he will receive his grade and corrections within a few hours by email. The instructor, Susan Johnsey, is available daily for questions and to grade your work.  

Your scores and answers to your questions are answered daily and returned to you by email.   Be sure your email address  is valid and easy for you to check.
